Social Soccer League KL

Well, this week will be the 3rd league week of SSL-KL 2008/09 season. Lets take a look at what have been happening in SSL.
For a start, all three divisions seem to be getting pretty even in strength. In premier we saw two expats team occupying top two spots. Asterix Reds and Vikings are really looking good. So far the most impressive would be Asterix. Their attacking plays and cohesiveness in all departments are getting the needed results. 2 win out of two. Vikings is Vikings, ever steady and resilient. Their defensive and counter attacking plays are their main weapons. Taso and Morten are the key players. Local teams are somewhat squeeze in between. Kepong, Expert Klang, TSV and Mancis have all lost once. BM and DHFC are the last two teams. Like the saying goes, the race is still early anything can go well or bad. The new season is expected to be another closely fought affair. Consistency counts.
Division one is a similar story. One thing i do notice is Astaka. They tend to be the yo-yo team. Why? I have noticed that for two times that they have been relegated, twice they bounced back to be promoted again. So far they have chalked up two victories. Red Star also looking good but the problem with them could be the availability of their core players. I reckon it is the vital ingredient for any teams if they want to stay consistent in their performances. Club 9 would be the local teams to lead the title challenge. Fusion, Warriors, Conn and MF not far behind.
For division 2 aka the most competitive divison :), Old-New boys -> Sporting KL (Soccerities) will be the team to beat. Their base of many ex-KL Selangor clubs players will give them a slight edge over the others. Swoosh, Maluri and Wolves can still spring some surprises or even challenge Sporting for the title. Lingam (Maluri) has managed to pinched several Mancis kaki and recruited some good young guns to his ships too. No more the whipping boys. They will be one of the tai-ko to watch. Their main concern is getting enough players to turn up on Saturdays which Lingam has so far managed to avoid .Same goes to Wolves.
It will definitely be a fun and exciting season. Good luck to all.
